-Super Marimba II is now available on all major online retailers.
-Spring 2009 was a busy time, with two performances of my concerto Cowboy Tabla, Cowboy Raga with Alarm Will Sound and the L.A. Philharmonic, as well as numerous Super Marimba shows. This summer I'm composing, composing, composing, and playing a few AWS shows.
-A recording of my concertos for tabla and percussion quartet is now available on the ATMA label and through all major online retailers. My first Super Marimba CD is now available on all major online retailers. Go to the "recordings" page for ordering information.
-I've recently premiered new works I commissioned for solo marimba, including pieces by Robert Morris and Caleb Burhans. Stuart Saunders Smith and Charles Wuorinen have recently finished pieces I also commissioned.
-I've been training upwards of 12 hours a week for triathlon. I've got my first Olympic-distance race coming up. Please see my blog for race reports, or visit Solis Performance.
-Tarantulas abound in my ever-expanding collection, which now include the gorgeous Poecilotheria and Psalmopoeus genera. Hopefully I'll be breeding Poecilotheria later this year. In July 2008 I delivered a presentation on tarantellas at the 10th Annual American Tarantula Society Conference and I've been invited to be the Keynote Speaker at the 2009 Sonoran Arthropod Studies Institute Conference in Arizona.
